Don Paine presented a CLE at ETLAW’s March 2012 luncheon entitled “Killer Women of East Tennessee.” He detailed the trials of four female murderers hailing from East Tennessee, including Maude Moore (1919), June Newberry (1961), Christa Pike (1995 Job Corps Murder), and Fallon Tallent (2004). The presentation was quite timely as one of the women, Christa Pike, was thwarted in her attempt to escape the women’s prison that day.
